CHINA, SEPTEMBER 2011: IEV International Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IEV Group Sdn. Bhd. was awarded contracts to supply its Marine Growth Prevention (“MGP”) technology to three new offshore platforms of National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in China. A total of 472 MGPs will be supplied to these new structures to protect all jacket members, conductors and horizontal frames in 4Q, 2011.
This unique technology, pioneered by IEV, has been applied to approximately 400 platforms worldwide including 37 platforms in China, since 1990. The technology makes use of ocean waves and currents to prevent marine growth settlement on these new structures right from the first date of operation
The platforms will enjoy a "zero-growth" profile throughout their service life and thus, reduction in dynamic, hydrodynamic and fatigue loadings. Considered as one of the most cost-effective methods to add strength and life to offshore oil & gas platforms, the products are now also offered to offshore wind farms and jetties around the world. IEV has also recently launched a new product design for boat landings, as part of the solution for wave zone clean-up of marine growth to reduce wave loading in the splash zone of offshore structures.
