Mobile Natural Gas (MNG)

IEV currently operates a 4.5 million standard cubic feet per day (“mmscfd”) Compressed Natural Gas (“CNG”) supply chain in West Java which supplies CNG to industrial customers within a 200km radius without pipeline access, who are using CNG to replace more expensive fuels such as Liquefied Petroleum Gas or Marine Fuel Oil.

IEV also replicates the MNG business in other Asian countries such as the joint venture with Gas Malaysia Berhad to extend the reach of piped gas to factories with no such access in Peninsular Malaysia.

IEV's strategy in this focuses on the utilisation of natural gas to replace oil as primary source of fuel and the supply of MNG will help to accelerate the domestic distribution of natural gas. 

Business Model

IEV's Mobile Gas business model covers the complete infrastructure for domestic gas utilization. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

CNG Delivery System


CNG provides an economical, flexible and efficient alternative to traditional off-pipeline natural gas delivery systems. Natural gas from pipeline is compressed to 200-250 bars and then loaded into CNG trailers for transport by road. At the delivery point, the pressure of CNG in the trailer is reduced to a level suitable for commercial and industrial applications. If natural gas is used as vehicular fuel, CNG will be maintained or recompressed to 200 bars or higher pressure for delivery into vehicle's CNG tanks.

IEV can design, build and operate complete CNG infrastructure and deliver CNG on a throughput contract basis.

CNG Infrastructure Development

Feed Gas - Natural gas from pipeline.

Compression Stage - Feed gas is compressed to 200-250 bars as CNG at the mother station and loaded into trailers for transportation to end-use sites.

End Use of CNG - Vehicular

TYPE 1 - Hydraulic Based CNG Daughter Station - Maintaining pressure at 200 - 250 bars for transferring to vehicles.

This system delivers natural gas for high-pressure applications using a unique hydraulic interface technology. With the use of "Hydraulic Oil Pressure Unit", the operation of gas transfer is greatly improved by delivering 95% or more of the gas carried by the trailer. Electricity consumption at receiving point is also greatly reduced. Higher fill volumes are achieved consistently in vehicles due to inherent cooling qualities of the technology.

TYPE 2 - Booster Compressor CNG Daughter Station - Recompressing CNG to 200-250 bars for transferring to vehicles. This requires the use of CNG compressors, cascade storage and priority panels.

End Use of CNG - Industrial and Commercial Users

Pressure Reduction Unit - Reducing pressure from 200 - 250 bars to 5 - 10 bars and automatically adjusting to the required delivery pressure.
